Today's Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot is about peaceful places, and one of the most peaceful I've ever come upon is the Mt. Angel Abbey in Mt. Angel, Oregon. It is on top of a rounded hill that sticks out in the valley, which is flat all around it. There may be a fault line under it, as the 1993 earthquake was centered there. No damage was done to the Abbey at that time, though. I loved the place so much that one day I talked for a while to a monk, and I tried writing a book called "Sanctuary" that was set there, sometime in the future, but it didn't turn out very well. Still, Mt. Angel has been a place where I could stop and reflect and look at the valley below and all around it.
For more peaceful places, go to Ellipsis, my friend Carly's blog, and see what other bloggers have done with the subject. Their URL's will be in the comments, while URL's for last week's are in the body of the blog.
